The Pre-Cleanse

The Pre-Cleanse section of the Nourish Your Body: A 21-Day Revitalizing Cleanse is designed to help ease you into your cleanse. It is a 2-7 day program, including elimination of unhealthy foods from your diet one at a time. We give you the chance to choose which foods to eliminate first, and we suggest starting with the food categories that are the easiest for you to remove from your diet. This helps boost confidence before you remove the foods that can be more challenging to let go of, The purpose of removing these unhealthy foods is to initiate the cleansing process and allow your body to remove waste products which have built up over time.

 

How to perform the Pre-Cleanse:

In the order you choose, remove the following foods from your diet, within a period of 7 days:

  1. Refined sugar (white sugar, brown sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, dextrose, molasses, etc.)

  2. Artificial sweeteners (aspartame, sucralose, Splenda, Equal, Sweet N’Low)

  3. Caffeine (coffee, black tea, green tea, energy drinks, etc.)

  4. Fried food (French fries, fried chicken, fried fish, etc.)

  5. Alcohol (wine, beer, liquor, etc.)

  6. Refined grains (white bread, white rice, pasta, bleached enriched flour, crackers, cookies, etc.)

Continue taking vitamins and prescription medication during the Pre-Cleanse and Cleanse.

  • Take 1000 milligrams of vitamin C 3 times a day

  • Take Liposomal Glutathione 50-100mg once a day or NAC 600mg 3 times a day

  • As described in the introduction section, you may feel more irritable or tired in the beginning of the Pre-Cleanse, while your system starts to clear the toxins from your body. Taking extra vitamin C and drinking other high-antioxidant fruit or vegetable juice can be very helpful for reducing these symptoms.

    • Be sure to read the label when purchasing juices.  Make sure there are no added sugars, and the juice is not from concentrate. 

  • Take 2 teaspoons of the ground flax or chia seeds once a day.  I like mixing this in with my oatmeal after it has cooled for a few minutes.  It also mixes in well with yogurt, applesauce or smoothies.

  • If you feel a craving for sugary or unhealthy food, snack on something good for you, such as organic carrots or almonds, to maintain your energy. Drinking a full glass of water or herbal tea can fill your stomach and help to reduce headaches or cravings.

  • Drink 3-4 liters of healthy fluids throughout the day. In order to flush out harmful chemicals, you need to be sufficiently hydrated. Purified water, herbal teas, and natural fruit and vegetable juices are perfect for keeping you hydrated and energized.

  • Eat organic food as much as possible during the Pre-Cleanse and Cleanse. This helps to reduce the burden of toxins in your system, and provide a more rapid and thorough whole-body cleanse.

  • The most important fruits and vegetables to buy organic due to pesticide residue are;

    • Peaches, Apples, Strawberries, Cherries, Grapes, Pear, Cherries

    • Spinach, Bell Peppers, Hot Peppers, Celery, Tomatoes
