The 6 Must-Have Homeopathic Remedies for Travel

I always take homeopathic remedies with me when I travel.  Having them on hand can be quick fix to problems that otherwise may take days to recover from while traveling.  They are small and easy to put on your carry on.  There is no issues with taking them through security either.  Here is a rundown of the six remedies you that you should not be without while traveling this summer. (With all dosing instructions, as soon as you feel better, there is no need to continue dosing):


Fear of flying: Aconite can be used if you are experiencing any flying related anxiety or stress. People that respond to this remedy may feel panic from the enclosed space or heights associated with being in the airplane.  Take 3 pellets under the tongue before the flight and then another 3 pellets every 60 min that you are on the flight to helps calm your nerves.  

 

Motion sickness: Tabacum can be used when there is nausea or vomiting associated with any type of travel, such as car, boat or plane.  People that tend to get clammy with the nausea and feel worse if the air is warm and need to seek out open air for relief.  Take 3 pellets under the tongue before you travel and then 3 pellets every 1-2 hours as needed for continued motion sickness.

 

Jet lag: Cocculus can be used as a multi-purpose remedy for motion sickness, jet lag and sleep disturbances associated with travel.  This remedy when used for motion sickness can be taken as above.  If used for jet lag or insomnia, take 3 pellets 1-2 times a day as needed to help your body readjust to the time zones while traveling.  

 

Acute injury: Arnica is always great to have on hand while traveling in case you or a family member injures him or herself.  Arnica is used to help treat the pain and healing of any mild bumps or bruising that may arise on your vacation, especially if you bump your head. Take 3 pellets as soon as the injury occurs and then 3 times a day until the injury heals.  

 

Over-indulgence: Nux-vomica will help you feel better if you are eating richer foods or drinking more alcohol on your trip than your body is used to.  Taking this remedy after a night out, It will help calm the after effects such as nausea, headaches and irritability that may arise after a fun night out.  Take 3 pellets as soon as you wake up in the morning and 1-2 more doses as needed through the day.  

 

Food poisoning: Arsenicum album is a necessity to have on hand especially if you are leaving the country.  This remedy helps with diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and weakness that comes from food or water poisoning.  This remedy helps especially if there are chills and the diarrhea burns.  Take 3 pellets at the onset of symptoms and then every 2-3 hours as needed until the symptoms resolve.
